02. Our Wines //  BENEGAS LYNCH | MALBEC

ORIGIN | BENEGAS LYNCH | MALBEC

Made only with our best grapes, from selected plots and with low yields per hectare. Aged in new French oak barrels for 18 months. We have Malbec from Finca La Encerrada; the Cabernet Franc comes from old vines planted in 1899 by Don Tiburcio Benegas and a Blend composed of Cabernet Sauvignon (planted in 1935), Cabernet Franc (planted in 1899), Merlot (planted in 1956) and Petit Verdot (planted 2001) in Finca Libertad. These are unique wines, of limited production and elaborated only during the best harvests.

CHARACTERISTICS

Grapes Origin: Finca La Encerrada, Gualtallary, Tupungato, Uco Valley Mendoza. At 1450 mts above the sea level.

Ageing: 18 months in new French oak barrels and one year bottle ageing.

Tasting notes:

– Colour: Brilliant intense red colour with the typical violet hues of the malbec..

-Nose: At the beginning ripe fruit notes appear such as strawberries and plums. After this, the flower notes emerge, especially violets which are typical of the coldest regions of Uco Valley. Some lactic notes appear as a result of its fermentation and ageing in barrels.

-Mouth: Powerful wine of round and marked tannins of great character, excellent balance and long persistence in the palate. The ageing in wood grants the necessary silkness to put together all the range of descriptors that the wine has developed during fermentation, including the tobacco and the raw leather.

Ageing capacity : 10 – 15 years

Serving temperature: We recommend to serve this wine between 17 and 18 C
